ABOUT

Antoinette's inspiration is predominantly drawn from her Great Grandfather's business, established in the early 1900's in New York, 'Harley's Saloon', which eventually was relocated to Donegal in Ireland with the opening of a hardware and grocery store also.

Her porcelain bags represent the brown paper bags and sheeting which were the most common forms of packaging during this period. The embossed imagery on the bags is a collection of products sold throughout the business which still exists.

work

Simplistic in form, colour and texture, Antoinette’s work highlights the beautiful characteristics of porcelain, with subtle elements of embossed imagery, writing and copper stitching.
